T-Shirts designed by Israeli Army glorify murdering civilians.

The Israeli military has closed an investigation into claims that Israeli troops shot unarmed Palestinian women and children during its 22-day war on Gaza.

Military investigators said on Monday that Israeli soldiers were passing on "hearsay" when they described the alleged incidents, published by Israeli media earlier this month.

Avichai Mendelblit, Israel's military judge, said investigations "found crucial components of [the soldiers' descriptions] were based on hearsay and were not supported by specific personal knowledge".

He said it was unfortunate that the soldiers, who discussed their Gaza experiences in a closed-door session on February 13, had been careless about accuracy.

"It will be difficult to evaluate the damage done to the image and morals [of the Israeli army] in Israel and the world", his statement said on Monday, adding that he would not be pressing charges.

FBI Planting Spies in U.S. Mosques, Muslim Groups Say PDF Print E-mail

Will Spies in U.S. Mosques jeopardize Muslim cooperation
with Authorities?

Ten U.S. Muslim organizations threatened this week to cease working with the FBI, citing "McCarthy-era tactics" by the agency, including efforts to covertly infiltrate California mosques.

The groups claim the FBI has sent undercover agents posing as worshippers into mosques, pressured Muslims to become informants, labeled civil rights advocates as criminals and spread misinformation.

The FBI declined to comment on specific allegations but called the proposed move unproductive.

"Limiting honest dialogue, especially when complex issues are on the table, is generally not an effective advocacy strategy," spokesman John Miller said in a statement. "The FBI has continued our outreach efforts, across the board, with a number of concerned groups and where we agree -- or disagree -- most have concluded the best results are achieved through continued conversation. We believe that, too."

Remember when the word 'Idol' had a bad meaning?

From Al-Ibaanah.com

'Have you then considered Al-Laat and Al-‘Uzzaa, and Manaat, the third other?' [Surah An-Najm: 19-20]"

Shaikh Saalih Al-Fawzaan said in his commentary: Sharh Al-Qawaa'id-ul-Arba' [Dar-ul-Imam Ahmad (pg. 34-37)]

This verse indicates that there are polytheists who worship stones and trees. "Have you then considered" is an interrogation that consists of a condemnation, which means "Inform me." Such a question is asked with the intent of condemning and censuring.

"Al-Laat" with one "t" was the name of a statue found in Taa’if, which consisted of a carved out rock upon which a house was built that had curtains on it, resembling the Ka’bah. There were open fields around it and it had its own custodians, and people would worship it apart from Allaah. It belonged to the tribe of Thaqeef and they were proud of it.

Sticking to religious financial rules is paying off

As credit markets have imploded, triggering a global economic crisis, Islamically correct investors have seen a change of fortune: The conservative principles this small group of devout Muslims clung to during the economic heyday has insulated them from the worst of the past year's suffering.

Their renunciation of the interest-based economy kept them away from investments in financial services companies, whose stocks have collapsed, and out of traditional mortgages.

"There was a time two or three years ago that Islamic finance was considered simply too conservative," said Professor Ibrahim Warde, author of "Islamic Finance in the Global Economy" and an adjunct professor at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. "Right now, many people are recognizing that maybe it wasn't such a bad thing."

Muslim + Suspicion = Life in Prison : The Case Against Closing Gitmo PDF Print E-mail

Gitmo was only one of the Bush Administrations attempts to
circumvent the very founding documents they claim to champion.

(As the debate over enhanced interrogation techniques and Guantanamo Bay heats up, we thought this piece could use a raise. You won't find it anywhere but at American Muslims Today.)

The current ballyhoo over President Obama's Executive order to close Guantanamo Bay has provided me a lot of entertainment lately. As usual the Left cheered and the Right jeered as we have all come to expect. Most ordinary people were left wondering how this decision will affect them. The stakes were higher for American Muslims though. Some of them have personally suffered false imprisonment and hosts of legal problems since the passing of the Patriot Act. In the aftermath of the decision, I admit I have been thoroughly amused by right wing discussions on the issue. Their talking points collectively reveal not only their opinions on how to keep America safe, but they also betray their hidden goals and fears regarding Muslims, and America itself.

The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact, non-Westerners never do.
